Breezm, a personal eyewear brand, is disrupting the eyewear industry by using cutting-edge 3D scanning, AI data, and additive manufacturing to deliver personalized glasses at scale. While traditional eyewear manufacturing takes months and lacks flexibility, Breezm’s partnership with EOS has allowed them to meet customer demand with speed and precision, offering unprecedented customization, including a wide range of color options that aren’t available with other additive manufacturers. “EOS technology has allowed us to not only meet but exceed customer expectations, providing tailor-made eyewear in a fraction of the time”, says Wooseok Sung, CEO at Breezm.

Challenge

Breezm identified early on that traditional eyewear manufacturing, with its 6-month production cycles and high minimum order quantities of 300-500 pairs, wasn’t suited for the on-demand, personalized approach they envisioned. While many additive manufacturing solutions offered improved flexibility in terms of batch size, they couldn’t support the level of color customization Breezm wanted to provide. Breezm needed a partner that could help them produce eyewear that was both highly customizable in fit and appearance, which led them to EOS.

Sturdy & Sylish

3D printed glasses fundamentally resolve the discomforts of standard-sized glasses.

The white EOS’ PA 2200 material supports a high level of color customization for end customers.
With the FORMIGA P 110 breezm was able to address both customization and speed challenges.

Solution

Breezm adopted EOS FORMIGA P 110 and PA 2200 to address both customization and speed challenges. Unlike other additive manufacturing solutions with limited color options, EOS offered Breezm the ability to deliver frames in multiple colors. Thanks to their white base material, which provides a homogenous white surface across all parts after 3D printing and provides the perfect canvas for over 100 hues to shine bright. The precision of EOS technology ensured the perfect fit for each customer, while the flexibility of small-batch production eliminated the need for large minimum orders. This allowed Breezm to meet demand while maintaining a high level of personalization and efficiency. Wooseok Sung, CEO at Breezm concludes: “With EOS, we’ve gained the flexibility to design without limitations, enabling us to offer eyewear as unique as our customers – including a range of colors no other provider could offer.”

Results

Since integrating EOS 3D printing technology, Breezm has significantly reduced its time-to-market, from 6 months to just weeks, delivering customized orders on-demand. With EOS, Breezm achieved 60% annual sales growth and sold over 60,000 pairs of eyewear, all while maintaining a Net Promoter Score of 60, on par with leading global brands. (The Net Promoter Score, or NPS, is a metric used to gauge customer loyalty and satisfaction by asking customers how likely they are to recommend the company to others.) The expanded design possibilities, including 80 unique styles and five color choices, were made possible by EOS’ advanced 3D printing capabilities, setting Breezm apart in the market. The elimination of minimum order quantities further enabled Breezm to provide highly personalized eyewear without the burden of excess inventory. Additionally, the rapid turnaround in production has been crucial in allowing Breezm to stay competitive in the fast-paced world of fashion and consumer goods, where trends can shift quickly. Speed in output ensures Breezm can keep up with evolving consumer preferences, securing a decisive advantage in the marketplace. “Thanks to EOS technology, our eyewear production is faster, more efficient, and more personalized than ever before, allowing us to provide the best customer experience in the industry,” explains Wooseok Sung, CEO at Breezm.
